The combined section of the Blackstone Chess Festival Open last August was FIDE rated. (Because I played one round as a house player in that section, I have a FIDE ID, but I doubt I'll ever have a published FIDE rating!)

Enjoy the rest of the tournament.

- Ken BallouAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114234807276194338.post-5709029766376774822009-01-31T00:19:00.000-05:002009-01-31T00:19:00.000-05:00Ellen: Sounds like a good plan. :-)Ellen: Sounds like a good plan. :-)Pollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13747958243702670987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114234807276194338.post-11854446635276671932009-01-30T19:30:00.000-05:002009-01-30T19:30:00.000-05:00This year the New Yorker Hotel. You want to get a nice FIDE rating so you can put it on your blog to give your dispatches from tournaments around the continent more authority.

I think you should add territories and neighboring countries to the list of states and count it. Not every player that has competed in every state (there are few of those) has also made it to several nearby islands, Canada, Mexico, and so on. Set your sites high.

Keep hope that the airline that got you there is still in business when the event is over.James Stripeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13437334325501974461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114234807276194338.post-79732630468018505552009-01-29T17:23:00.000-05:002009-01-29T17:23:00.000-05:00Wow!
