When one has played 4000+ games it's hard to decide. However I was genuinely pleased with being able to keep my cool in the time pressure and take what I had picked up from the person's lesson and apply it to this situation.Pollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13747958243702670987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114234807276194338.post-13020798819101861702008-10-07T10:21:00.000-04:002008-10-07T10:21:00.000-04:00It is so rare that one can use a lesson directly a...It is so rare that one can use a lesson directly afterwards in a game. You must have felt blessed!

I loved it to see that you trusted your best judgment and did not allow yourself to be intimidated by your opponents rating.

Well done Polly! This one can surely be added to your 60 most memorable games.Phaedrushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05393639592979349429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114234807276194338.post-80042069277907866932008-10-06T15:37:00.000-04:002008-10-06T15:37:00.000-04:00Hi Chessfriend! You have a nice chessblog here! However when the guy was doing the lesson with the knight versus the lone pawn from the book and I saw how much it helped me in my first round game I decided it was time to look at more.

In that same tournament I won my last round game in a time scramble ending using something from a another game I had lost earlier because I didn't see the move. When I can find that game, and figure out a rough reconstruction of the ending from Thursday's game I'll do a follow up piece.

Maybe there's hope for me as an educational blogger yet. :-) LOLPollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13747958243702670987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5114234807276194338.post-3298661044224431032008-10-05T06:25:00.000-04:002008-10-05T06:25:00.000-04:00Well done!
